Former insurance regulator during the period 1992 to 2003 with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) as Director of Insurance. At MFSA John was actively involved in the enactment and supervision of the new Insurance legislation and the drafting of various amendments to the tax law relating to insurance business. MFSA is a founder member of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and John sat on its Insurance Laws and Regulations Sub-Committee for eight years. Following retirement, over the past years John has been acting as a consultant on a part time basis to the Atlas Insurance Group advising on regulatory compliance, captive insurance management and protected cell facilities.
